Sari has integrated a system for cleaning the underbody of vehicles in its washing portals and elsewhere.
This washing system is customized according to the type of vehicle to be treated (simple cars or trucks and special vehicles) and according to the dirt to be washed. The system can work with low or high pressure water.
LOW PRESSURE
Washing the underbody with low pressure water is generally used in automatic self-service car washes (car wash portals). This is because the use of low-pressure water does not damage the very delicate car
bottom. At the same time, however, the amount of water flow is high, which guarantees an excellent
result.
HIGH PRESSURE
High-pressure water underbody washing is suitable for all vehicles that work in hard conditions, such as buses and lorries, especially those for waste collection and disposal, tankers and earth-moving vehicles.
The system operates fully automatically: sensors (ultrasound, photocell or magnetic bar anchored to the
ground) are positioned at the entrance to the washing track to automatically trigger the washing process.
The vehicle slowly moves along the washing track, activating the sensors and starting the washing process.
The washing time varies depending on the length of the vehicle.
Depending on the type of nozzle-cleaning unit, the washing system can be designed with fixed fan nozzles, fixed rotating nozzles or rotating-pulley heads.
- Fixed fan nozzles: these have the same cleaning effect as a high-pressure cleaner and, if positioned
correctly at an angle to the axle shaft positions of the vehicle, are able to remove most of the dirt and mud accumulated in the underbody. There are various types and angles. - Fixed rotating nozzles: designed for the most stubborn and difficult to remove dirt. The number of nozzles is variable and the water pumps will be sized accordingly.
- Rotating-pulirotating nozzles: these are devices that work solely with the thrust of the water coming out of their nozzles; they act close to the surface on which they intervene as a real water milling machine, removing all types of sedimentation and at the same time guaranteeing a perfect rinsing action.
The heads can be adjusted in their rotation speed and thanks to their “angled arms” they can direct the jets of water to the parts concerned. Normally, four washing heads are mounted on the washing area: two for washing the outer part of the wheels and two for washing the inner part and the underbody.
A variant of this type of washing is the use of a trolley that runs underneath the underbody of the vehicle
along its entire length. This variant is often used in the washing of trucks due to their length.
If the underbody washing is to be an addition to an already established washing area, it is possible to install the washing system without excavation. In this case, at least 50 cm height above ground and a ramp at the beginning and end of the washing track are required.
Related to underbody washing, Sari also manufactures construction site wheel washing systems to wash
and remove dirt at the wheels of vehicles, especially when leaving a quarry or construction site.
They can wash at high or low pressure and can optionally spray shampoo and foam.
These systems can be customised in relation to the type and characteristics of the vehicles to be washed
and according to the amount of dirt to be removed.
Sometimes an entire washing arch is also installed to pre-wash the vehicle, spraying shampoo rather than sanitising liquid.
